While I was reading this section of the chapter, I was so impressed with Amanda’s dignity throughout. With the passage of time, you forget details. But things stand out so much more clearly as I revisit this portion of the time spent with Amanda. Especially the way the siblings were manipulating me and my Pollyanna self!
I was so, SO optimistic and so naive. But, to those who share the Pollyanna Platform, there is no shame in that. It’s just that those who live in darkness are drawn to you. So you have to be aware.
Please remember, nobody has the right to put their hands on you, ever. What Marcus did in the restaurant was criminal. He should have been arrested. I called it a “semi-violent” encounter, which tells you how high my tolerance level as I was writing about it. It was actual violence. And that is never okay, even if someone is grieving, or angry, or whatever.
Also, I want to note that R2 did not contribute that gas money out of the goodness of her heart. She took it out of my inheritance (while not apprising me at the time), which she had whittled down to a mere 3 figures, and finally sent to me ten years later! (That will be in the sequel…)
